There are mini busses going north along the lake shor road, to Lilongwe and south to Blantyre.
The directions shown in the windows of the busses are not the final destination. Lilongwe and Blantyre transport usually goes only to Balaka where you have to change. The faster way is to get off at the Balaka turn off and find a bus to Lilongwe or Blantyre.
Heading north busses only go as far as Karonga or Dwangwa. Where you have to change.
