Favorite thing: Town centre, market and station.
Fondest memory: What a wonderful, friendly and relaxed town. After the usual 'tourist' destinations in Mali (Mopti, Segou, Bamako, Djenne, Timbuktu and the Dogan Country - all of which were fantastic and lived up to their promise), Kita is a great place to just relax for a couple of days. There are really no guides, no tourist shops or hawkers just naturally friendly and sociable people. You can hang out at the station and try for a game of checkers against the locals, shop in the market, and stroll around the centre and have a cool drink. If you really must there is an internet cafe, but try to resist! Hotels & Restaurants are a bit limited, but so what.
