don t do the same mistake I did. There is one and I mean really one atm in all mali, at least till feb 2006, that is in bamako.Do not forget to carry plenty of money with you as in mopti there are no chances to get your money or pay with plastic, unless the main bank will start the cash advance service again after a long breakdown.Mali is not that cheap as you might expect, therefore bring with you CFAS or dollars!

Nice vegetable every where on the markets... but avoid to eat them raw.
That’s one of the most important things with water: you never know how they were watered, how they were washed.
You can eat meat at the small shops on the streets with no problems: brochettes are always excellent. Even if meat is covered with flies on the market, don’t worry too much: it’s always fresh because there is a very short time between the death of the animal and the moment when it’s cooked… and eaten.
Salads are especially tempting but again, avoid eating raw vegetables except if you are sure that they have been washed with permanganate. For example, you can eat vegetable in the Doux Rèves and in the Kanaga restaurant. But definitely, Mali is not a destination for veggies...!
