Akjoujt Things to Do

  • The resting areas along the road to Atar

On the road to Atar or NKT depending of your direction you'll find 2 or 3 resting areas like this that will make your stop in this town well worth it. enjoy and relax for a while.

  • Houses

This mud like houses have a cute design i should say. they actually seem very fresh inside, very good taking in consideration that outside if very warm. at the moment of the picture there were 47 degrees celcius.

  • The mosque

This city seems to have a very big mosque for its actual size. In the whole area of the city you'll notice how strange buildings are far away from eachother. This city is just a stop between the capital NKT and Atar.

Along the road you'll find a couple of shops and restaurants that will do if you're really hungry.
This is the perfect place to rest for a while before going back to the road either to Atar or the capital NKT.

  • Taxi from NKT

Theres seems to exist taxis (pick up trucks or old 80's mercedes 200d). I once met a couple of tourist comming from Atar and they told each payed 1500UM (more or less 4 euros) to go from Atar to NKT. So there's probably the same from NKT to Atar. So to Akjoujt the transportation should be the same. remeber that if you're actually going to atar...

You might need to buy some water or a quick snack along the way from Atar to NKT or vice versa. This is the nly place between the whole way where you can find those sort of products. Remember that 456km separate those 2 cities from each other.

What to buy: water, cheese bread, fruit all sort of things.

What to pay: prices can be higher than in NKT.
