Excellent Thai cuisine in Grand Baie. Extensive menu, friendly service, nice ambiance - especially at night. Restaurant is on the main road through Grand Baie so it can be a little noisy but for us it is part of the atmosphere.
Favorite Dish: Angry Duck, the angrier it is the hotter it is.

This Italian resturant is set behind the Banana bar on the east end of Grand Baie.
We had a lovely meal here on a Saturday night.
The place was packed with Mauritian's enjoying the fab food.
Although packed the food appeared very promptly out of the kitchen.
This place was run like clockwork with very attentive staff.
The resturant was light & airy with the tables arranged to suit any size of party.
The people eating were all ages & they were still seating people after 11pm.
The most surprising thing about this trendy joint was the bill.
We had three courses & it all came under 1,400 Rupees.
This was the best food at the best price during our holiday.
Favorite Dish: I had my favourite Italian starter Fritto Misto which is basically lightly fried seafood.
The fried seafood was Calamari & Scampi.
I also had the Risotto con Scampi which I struggled due to the big starter.
The free rum shots at the end of the meal were very strong but greatly accepted.

This appeared to be a lovely resturant on the west of Grand Baie next to the public beach looking out over the bay. The setting was beautiful but the food was not.
As a result of our bad experience we only had one meal here. This said the place was busy & many people looked very happy with what they were eating.
I ordered a beef creole main course & found it totally bland.
The food came in very large portions & you could probably share the courses.
We could not finish our main courses due to the poor quality & quantity of the food.
As in all the resturants on the island they try to punt you the fresh lobster.
Be very careful as the price on the menu is for every 100g.
This means the price can be 5-10 times the cost on the menu depending on size of the lobster

This is a very romantic resturant on the main road in Pereybere next door to an Irish pub called Murphy's.
The main enterance is very posh with the usual large fish tank full of poor wee lobsters awaiting there fate (plate).
It opens up to a large covered seated area next to the sea with beautiful views.
The staff look after your every need & the menu was varied enough for us to eat there 4 times in 12 nights.
They even have large patio heaters for those chilly winter nights ( 15-20 Degrees ).
You may laugh at this but they were used extensivley duing our stay.
We are not big eaters usually avoiding any starters.
If there is any room left I like to have a dessert which we normally share.
Our waiter was Suneil & even gave us a shot of his fab home made flavoured Rum :-)
They had a Sega night every Tuesday when we were there & it was a good show.
Favorite Dish: I would recommend the Pois Coco at 325 which was a lovley fish with rice main dish.
My wife had the Fillet Pois Frais at 490 which was another fish dish but not as good as mine.
The wife had the Creme Brule twice it was so good.
The Tiramisu is the best I have had outside Italy.
The Pina Colada's were fab at 180
The beers were only 75
As usual with all meals the more coarses you have the bigger the bill
Please note they add 15% to the bill for the tax man
