Port Louis is the only deep water harbour of Mauritius and is the island capital with a population of about 400,000 people. It is surrounded by mountains and the ocean. Famous things include the beautiful waterfront area, central market, various statues located in the city centre, governor's house and the horse racing course. I will share with you these information on my Port Louis VT page, so you can go there for more information.

The beach at the Turtle Bay, Balaclava is very nice and there are 2 hotels here, namely Hotel Maritim and Hotel La Plantation which I stayed. Besides the beach, there is impressive view of the mountains as well as a beautiful freshwater lake and ruins of the European colonial rule.

This is a public beach with beautiful sand, crystal clear waters without corals and there is not much strong waves here.
