FORGET about the Blue-Penny-museum, when you want to see the most famous stamp on earth !!!I certainly did not come to Mauritius in order to see that famous stamp, but as collecting stamps used to be one of my favorite hobbies of my childhood I was glad to hear that there is a letter with the famous "Blue-Mauritius stamp" shown in the Blue Penny-museum in Port Louis and that is why I went there and I was totally disappointed, because they show all sorts of exhibits, BUT the famous stamp is shown in a dark room that is lighted only for a few minutes at lunchtime each day.
Photography is also totally forbidden in that museum !!!

Unique Suggestions: Go there at exactely the time, when they show the stamp or skip it !!!

Fun Alternatives: There is a lot more to see in Port Louis, so forget about that museum !

Maurician's walls

The mauricians, whose houses were extensively open on the outside, separated of the street by simple shrubby hedges, or by "raquettes" (opuntia), caught since some years the curious craze to surround their property of these high walls made of particularly hideous concrete.
