I think he is the best in Rodigues, i had compare his prices with other tour operators but i will recommend him to anyone willing to go Rodrigues for holidays. i reached him via his website www.skyflytravel.net . Or his mob is 9497815.

    Snorkelling

Wow! Our best snorkelling trip so far, diving and snorkelling started here just 10 years ago, so you really feel like a first time visitor at the reefs, they are untouched and magnificient, plenty of beautiful fishes.
The trip includes a visit to some beautiful Islands, barbecue included (fish, sausage, chicken, salad, etc..), and it was fantastic.
The crew had fins and masks, but it is a good advice to bring your own gear. Dont forget suncream, a Rodriguan hat maybe, you also need some walking shoes, because on the Island you probably walk on volcanic ground and its quite sharp.
We paid about 700 Rs for the trip

Rodrigues are perfect for hiking, the landscape change fast, sheeps and goats, wonderful views, dense jungle, endemic species, a very rare experience is waiting for you, many plants are almoust extinguished, if you are lucky you can see the Rodriguan fruit bat flying between the trees, meet the locals, get lost, you are always a few steps from civilization.
You can ofcourse rent a bike, just ask at your hotel or anyone you meet.

    Cave

This was a big surprise, a 600 m long cave with stalaktites and stalagmites, its a bit chilly down here so bring an extra sweater, walking shoes and a flashlight, the cave has no light yet. The entrance fee is 200 Rs.
You can visit the cave either by yourself or with a tourgroup, if you choose the group, the guide will bring flashlights and the fee is prepaid, even a very nice lunch is served after the trip.

    Huge Church

Sorry I cannot remember any details of this church. All I do remember that there is some history for the church and is worthwhile to check out. Once you are on the island you can ask just about anybody and they can give you more information of it.

    Ile Cocos

The sand island of Ile Cocos is a nature reserve and is covered with birds and other small critters. The island is west of Rodrigues and takes over an hour to get to by a motorboat. You need a permit to visit the island but you will probaly go with a tour and they will have that arranged. Overnight camping is not allowed on the island and there are permanent guards (I guess you can call them guards) on the island.

    Caverne Patate

    Caverne Patate

At the southwest corner of the island there is fairly impressive cave. The ground seems quite flat all around then there is a hole all of a sudden. When with a guide they will point out various features that resemble famous people or places. It's an easy hike through and is a bit chilly down there so if you get cold easily you may want to bring something with long sleeves. Flash photography is not allowed inside the cave and I guess you are supposed to get a permit prior to entering the cave. I went with a local tour so everything was arranged.

    Climbing Mt. Limon

View from the Top of Mt. Limon

Mt. Limon might be the highest point on the island and if it is not it is only made a metre or two lower. It is an easy climb and the road that goes by the mountain goes really close to the summit. It offers a good view of the surrounding area.

    A Coral Quarry

The southside of Rodrigues island has a huge density of coral to the point where at one point the used to dig it up and use it to make blocks for houses. Today it is protected by the government and so only a couple people make little sculptures out of the coral.

    Port Mathurin

The capital and the hub of all aspect of business for the island. It is a small relaxing town that is a perfect base to tour the island from. There is a movie theatre, various restaurants and stores to keep you busy for a day or two.

    Down to earth?

by majoe Written Jul 29, 2003

Being of volcanic origin, Rodrigues has a few natural attractions such as caves, strange looking rocks that always attract others...and those virgin-like beaches. One of the must see caves would be the "Caverne Patate" (Sweet potato's caves).

Snorkelling was one of my favourite activities during my stay on the island. Just outside the lagoon, the warm and fresh water caresses me. I have never seen fishes so big swimming next to me. At my fiorst attempt I had to go back to the boat but then it seems that you are part of the ocean and wouldn't leave it quite yet...

Apart from the wide range of land and sea based excursions, Rodrigues heartland may be explored on mountain bikes, on foot or even through caves and others will be fascinated by bird watching and other nature "loisirs".

    The Airport

    Rodrigues' Airport

I just get a kick out of these small island airports. Realistically this is where you will arrive on Rodrigues. Considering the location it is a fairly nice airport.
