At the groundflour of the Municipal Amazighe heritage museum is a hall for temporary exhibitions of contemporary art.
During my visit in summer 2007 there was an exhibition of the work of a local artist named Rachid Fassih. I am always interested to see the art works of local artists, to look how they are expressing their cultural background and roots in their own unique way.
In atmosphere and expression the work of Rachid Fassih with its expressive motifs fits very well with the traditional cultural artefacts in the other halls of the Amazighe heritage museum.

The collection of traditional jewellery in the Amazighe heritage museum is very special. Anyway I am a lover of this kind of jewellery, especially the Berber and Tuareg style. More than 200 pieces are exhibited in the several exhibition halls. You can find bracelets, fibulas, talismans and necklaces.
The most important piece of the museum is the necklace of Massa. This necklace with a spirale became the emblem of the museum. It is depicted at the poster of the museum (picture 3).

The Amazighe heritage museum or le Musée Municipal de Patrimoine Amazighe shows a variety of Berber heritage from the region of Souss Massa Draa. Except the pieces of traditonial jewellery you can see all kind of objects of daily life like carpets, pottery and wooden doors.
At the first floor is a library wher you can have a look at lots of interesting books of the local culture. A pity that the desk was closed at saturday during my visit.
Opening hrs: 9.30am till 5.30 pm
Entrance fee: 20 dirham, kids 10 dirham
