A diverse country

by DanielF

Discover the great diversity of the country. From the Mediterranean to the Atlantic, from the desset to the Atlas mountains, you will feel overwhelmed by the beauty of the landscapes and the hospitability of the people. The classical tour of Morocco includes the "Imperial cities": Rabat, Fes, Marrakesh and Meknes, which boast the most outstanding features of the country's rich cultural heritage. The tour can be completed with Casablanca, the economic heart of the country, and the Northern cities of Tangier, Tetwan and Shawen. The Atlas range is filled with impressive landscapes and rough wilderness and is the gate to the South: the Sahara. This area is the most exotic in the country and a real experience for the adventurous traveller.

Street of Casbahs

by globetrott

The street of the Casbahs will be the highlight of any tour through Morocco. The street of Casbahs - in the south of Maroc, mainly around Ait Ben Haddou - is full of old villages, made completely of clay and straw..These villages are very old, some of them are still inhabited, some of these houses are used to store food only

Rabat - Hassan Tower

by globetrott

Take a closer look at all of these plenty of columns in Rabat. They are the remains of a large mosque close to Hassan-tower. There is a modern mosque close to it, but the real attraction is that giant square with Hassan-tower in the background. Its still amazing to see the size of the mosque . you may walk around there freely and without restrictions and will also find a large parking close to Hassan-tower.

Moroccan Zip Codes

by Bernhadette

Often the zip codes for Moroccan towns are not indicated on address-data.Most Moroccans don't add it, when they address a letter. It is most probable that your letter or package will reach its recipient nonetheless, but it's faster and easier if you add the zip code. You can look up the codes at the official site (in French) of the Moroccan Postal Services ("Poste Maroc"): www.bam.net.ma (click "infos pratiques", then "code postal" and "rechercher un code postal")or see the official site of the Moroccan government (in French), which is less detailed: www.mincom.gov.ma/french/adr_util/codepostal/codepostal.htm

Wander the Streets of Fez and visit the Souqs

by Paul2001

Fez is perhaps the best example of what a medieval Arabic city probably would have looked like, existing today. Wandering the streets of its old town is a marvelous experience. The old town has the most important tannery in all of Morocco. Furthermore there are couple of fascinating medressas that are worth a visit too. There are numerous souqs throughout the city where its fun to get lost in. If you have already visited the souqs in Marrakesh you will notice some differences. For one, the souqs here seem less tourist oriented than in Marrakesh. In the latter you feel if the tourists disappeared, so for most part would the souqs. In Fes it is easy to lose the tourists and find sections where hardly any visit. This does mean that you will stick out and could possibly be the soul source of attention for some persistent hassler but still that is part of the adventure of wandering. I found...

Mineral Water is a must!

by girladventure

Mineral water in Morocco is usually referred to by brand name, Sidi Harazem, Sidi Ali or the naturally sparkling Oulmes . I prefer Sidi Ali--no taste. The other two have a distinct taste that I don't like. But then it's a matter of preference, you can try all three. They're really cheap and you can get them anywhere.
