Bakhzouz Tours in Agadir-service quality depends o

I would like to warn you against Bakhzouz Tours travel agency run by Ibrahim and his family, who hunt for tourists in Agadir and in some hotels are even recommended to them!
The price for their tours vary depending on a client and the way they estimate his wealth. They sell more tickets for their trips than they have seats in their coaches which means you might end up being thrown out from one trip and put on another (against your will ) because they want to put three more people on your place!
When you complain to them, they don’t want to take any responsibility, saying that they cannot guarantee any service quality as it all depends on Allah!
If you don't want to have spoilt vacations, avoid Bakhzouz Tours at all cost!

Women beware

Now we consider ourselves rather decent women, but the amount of times we were harassed and followed and generally abused happened here more than in any other muslim town i have experienced. I expect it is because the men here are used to lots of package holiday women here for a good time. On one occasion a man followed and harrassed us so bad we went into a cafe and asked the waiters for help. They didnt really take us that seriousl but eventually when they say how distressed we were they got rid of him

I normally advise women travellers to wear a wedding ring, keep your eyes averted and your dress conservative in order not to attract attention, unfortuately as the above shows, these pathetic men just dont get the hint. Better to stay in well lit public areas with lots of tourists around.

Taxi: overcharging

The small, red city-taxis (Petite Taxi) are metered. Day rate from 06:00, evening rate from 20:00 (+50%). night rate from midnight (double the day rate). In my experience 80% of the taxi drivers will try to cheat.

The most common problems:
Setting the meter for the night rate; meaning during the day you're paying double,
Telling you that after 20:00 it's +50% (you're already paying the night rate)
Telling you after midnight it's double, (so you're paying double-double)
Telling you that after midnight there is a set charge of 50 Dirhams (DHS)
Charging the meter fare per person instead of for the taxi.
There is one rip-off outside the Medina. He charges 10x the normal rate because his meter is fixed. From the Medina to the English Pub is about 20 - 25 DHS, his meter will say 200 - 250 DHS
The Mercedes taxis for travelling outside Agadir. Example, the trip to the airport is 150 DHS + 50 for luggage, so 200 DHS. You'll probably be asked 500 DHS. Arrange a price with your hotel beforehand.

Hopefully, an isolated incident, but...

We went for a walk from the hotel to a chemist one afternoon and got verbally harassed so much that it discouraged my friend from going back in again, unfortunately. There was one incident where an old man who was giving us these uncomfortable looks, stood behind my friend in a shop and deliberately farted. It was FOUL! And he sure as hell did not apologise for it! I would certainly hope that was an isolated incident.

Morocco does welcome you in a warm, and hospitality way and got famous for many holidaymakers. During the dark of the night the local costums are equalized with the difference some Moroccan girls do work for their money during the dark of the night.

Also Moroccan men are numerous in places like this, and unfortunately a good number of these are de facto prostitutes too: looking for Western women/men with whom they will spend time and have all expenses paid as well as expecting a gift. But just like with women , a good number of the men are just out having fun. Poster-painting Berber Woman by Emile Vernet-Lecomte (oil-on-linen 1870)

Dress tactfully. Skimpy clothes can offend or attract unwanted attention.
