Imilchil is a village to 2150 m of altitude, situated the limit enters the high central and Eastern atlas. known by these very beautiful lakes: isli and tislit: husband and bribe . and the festival of engagement : weddings in every last week of august . the area of imilchil includes two amazigh "berber" tribes "ait hdiddou" from the confideration of ait "yaf lman" ; there is beautiful valleys of assif melloul " the white river " and of assellatem :beginning of the valley of ziz too : these are well known by very beautiful landscapes and the generosity of people who live under the poverty line. the park of the high Eastern atlas is among the sites to be also visited that the throats " gorges " of assif melloul and the "cascades" water fulls agouni . the kasbahs of imilchil is among the best photographs of Morocco but unfortunately the majority is destroyed by the state " gouvernement " and local population .

we have various local meals and the is many choices to tast the local vegetables in imilchil . apples , potaetos , ognions , and fresh meat from the hight atlas mountain , chiken , or fish

Favorite Dish: tagines , barbecue , and berbere salades

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: can get cold - cold in winter of course and can be cold at night even in summer.

Photo Equipment: the area is so photogenic! but fairly remote - bring plenty of film or digital storage, make sure your batteries dont go dead at the worst time,

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: we camped once beside the lovely lake a few kilometres out of imilchil so bring camping gear if you are wanting to camp and anything that would make being in such a romantic spot memorable. bring your swimmers if you want to go for a splash - sunrise is not a bad time for such.

The famous fastival in Morocco is this festival of engagement and weddings especialy in the village of Ait amer about 20 km far from Imilchil . now it's mixed with the second festival who is called : festival of top music mountains in imilchil : "festival de musique des cimes " they are usualy happened in the last week of august In imilchil not very far from the lakes of Isli and more intersting to be discovered . There are 4 ways to get to Imilchil, not all are hard.

The one from the south from Tinghir and Ouarzazat is described in the Tineghir section about 120 km . from Ait hani to Agdal it's not very good . but the views are very nice especially on the top of Tigherghizine ; and the villages of Agdal ; Timariine and Akdim

The one from Fes or Errachidia , goes through Midelt and Rich. From Rich the way is wonderfull you go by Amouguer ; Outerbate, Bou ouzmou and a wonderful trip, doable in all the year in a small bus , 4*4 and other means of transport available. many hotels in imilchil " complexe collier d' ambre imilchil " and in Rich, both cheap and some of them basic but clean .

From the North last big towns on paved road are Beni mellal , Kasba Tadla, and Elksiba. between Khenifra and Beni Mellal there is two ways to go there : first is via Elksiba and the second is from Sidi yahya oussaad and Aghbala . The paved road takes you up to Ait sidi hssin . From there its not hard, and complexe collier d' ambre Imilchil is a good place to spend the night in Imilchil .

Other one is from Midelt by circuits of Jafar by 4*4 or from Tounfit and Boumia and throught the villages of : Anemzi , Aouddim , Anefgou this way is new and the andescape is beautifull .

Favorite thing: Getting around in this mountainous region involves bringing enough cash for food and transport ( not more expensive than in the rest of Morocco) there is no bank but there is many post offices . and knowing when Market days are( Imilchil : friday and saturday , Bououzmou :thuasday , Outerbat : sunday) but you can find all things that you want especially in Imilchil because there is many shops and factories to buy food and other necessaries . On market days it's always easier to find transport on a lorry. but there is some taxies and commun transport to go to Rich and Aghbala ( wendesday ; day of the market ) Lorries and taxies and some private cars are most used form of transport, after the donkey and mules of course.
