sunny day views across the valley from Lion D'Or

Such a beautiful spot seated on the side of a fertile valley, in the fresh air up in the mountains and usually with an array almost like a banquet for breakfast. Usual bread with fromage and honey or apricot jam, with freshly squeezed orange juice and if youre lucky as we were then you might get to try some freshly made poppyseed cake and a delicious avocado or almond milk drink concoction.
Evening meals can be just as pleasurable and interesting with a choice of local menu and recipes - with some notice a gourmet fish tagine can be even be served. All in the lovely setting of one of the valleys of lovely Telouet next to the Palace.

Favorite Dish: Freshly squeezed cocktail of juices and also the almond milk mixture.

Chez Mohammed Palace Restaurant: Try Mohammeds Berber Omelette -

4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Right in the centre of Telouet - friendly Mohammed and his staff - will wait on you and feed you in keeping with the cultural experience that you are after at very reasonable price.
Good local menu and good place to try Berber omelette so if you are in a hurry to keep seeing the sights such as the Gloui palace and valley scenes up further you can enjoy a good meal without having to wait too long.
Berber omelette is the local specialty, cooked quickly in a tagine dish, served with or without frites, salad olives. Add excellent coffee or orange juice or go for the standard offerings of coca cola or pommes sparkling drink.
or if you have more time stay for a tagine or couscous - especially if you are staying overnight in telouet.
you can sit at tables and watch the traffic and locals in the centre of town or enjoy the bedouin tent out the back.

Favorite Dish: Berber omelette - its a cultural experience, i love tomatoes and coriander, its easy to make and so its a dish you can learn to make for when you are back home. and memories i have of sitting out the back in the bedouin tent with delicious berber omelette....

Mohammed is great company for having a chat with, catch up on news and flavours around morocco .

Its eaten in many places around particularly the southern parts of morocco and a versatile recipe - you can add ingredients and go with your tastebuds.
buy a tagine dish from the Telouet souk - on Wednesdays (the small animal souk) or the large Thursday souk and take it home to continue your memories of morocco.
