Casa Hassan: Don't miss the mint tea
Chefchouen offers less of an international cuisine than anywhere I've ever been, and it's fantastic to see somewhere that only cooks locally. You can find the typical Moroccan cuisines in Chefchouen, including my favorite, Tajine, which is described best as a meat or poultry (sometimes veggies are used instead of meat) casserole with vegetables and couscous. You can also find the 'berber whiskey' which is really mint tea, a highly sugary tea that is served with a few fistfuls of mint crammed into the glass. Mint is so cheap in Morocco, you can buy a backpack full for a dollar. Another dish that is safe for those vegetarians would be couscous, often served with vegetables that are in season.
