Larache Warnings Or Dangers

There were no discos in town at the end of October 1998. Dificult to believe, the city was going to sleep immediately after darkness. So, the only place for nightlife for you is your hotel room there, at least in October :-). I met a group of young Brits who had been in Larache in summer a year before and they told me that Larache center/downtown did not go to bed so early in summer and that they had a problem to find any clean and economic accommodation in summer as most had been already fully booked.

They warned me about the cheapest hotels (below $5 per person) in the medina, too. Some of them were not clean and didn't offer hot water all the time or they ordered additional fee for a shower. That's why they stayed in more expensive hotel ($10 per person or so) in Cite Nouvelle. Excuse, I can't remember the name of their hotel but I did find the only 3-star hotel Riad Larache located outside the city and... fully booked in October.

Conclusion:
- do not expect any nightlife in Larache except in summer time,
- do book a room in advance especially in summer (June - September) or take more time to find any clean and still economic accommodation.
