    This small little bar, located in the Tanger Inn hotel, which used to be frequented by Jack Kerouac, William Borroughs, and Allan Ginsberg, is full of atmoshere and probably the best place to have a drink, not just if you are a beatnik.

  • A large group of students decided to meet here one night. You can get in free before 11 or 12, and drinks are fairly cheap. But wait until the dance floor opens up, and you'll start to realize something: everyone else at the club is a prostitute, with the exception of a midget who provides entertainment at the club.

    Really, we couldn't bear to stay more than 45 minutes.

    Any respecting traveler or writer of any repute as not fail to stand at the bar at some time,
    its if time has stood still one of the few places left in our world you will not forget.

  • They do have discotechs in tangier but they are very strange experiences, the populatiion is predominatley male so watch yourself if your a white female. Nobody drinks, the music is bleak and they dont stay open remotely late.

    Your best bet id to head across the street and find the small off license where they have a small selection of booze that they will give wrapped in a binbag. The locals do not like you drinking alcohol and the few small bars and affies are very much underground establishments!

    Some of the best cafes are centred around the tiny Petite Socco.


    Nightlife in Tangiers is nothing like it was back in the 1950's. You won't find the debauchery and decadence that there once was.

    You won't find the same kind of nightlife that you'd find on the Costa del Sol or in the holiday resorts in France and Greece either. This is probably a good thing.

    Pubs in Tangiers can be quite dark and depressing, but in the restaurants, cafés or hotel bars, you'll find some top class traditional Moroccan entertainment. Try and find one of the older hotel bars or ones that the locals go to. The newer ones can be a bit cheesy or touristy.
