While we had lunch we were entertained by a group of musicians. I really enjoyed it . Of course Hansi had to join in with the musicians and shake his booty. Then out came the belly dancer (who really did have a belly) . Everyone got a kick out of it and she was pretty good. Soon the basket went around to collect our donations. We wound our way through the narrow streets and came upon a doorway which led to stairs which brought us to RESTAURANT HAMMADI a typical Moroccan restaurant , where we were to have lunch. Lunch (which was included with the tour) consisted of soup, couscous and dessert. Drinks were extra. Leave a Comment Theme: LocalAddress: 2 Kasbah StreetPhone: 09 93 45 14

URSZULA (matcrazy0) AT CAP SPARTEL RESTAURANT by matcrazy1 This is quite large restaurant with an outside terrace with a view over the lighthouse put among palm trees. The restaurant was empty when we got there. The waiter was very nice but couldn't speak English. Luckily there was a menu in English. We had to wait quite long for our meals but... I can't complain. And the restaurant located in rather touristy place was suprisingly economic.
We had typical Moroccan meals: fish and royal (meat) couscous which were served with seasonal salads and fruits and tasted very good which made both my wife and me happy for the rest of the first - not the best - day in Morocco. Tthe restaurant is by a parking lot at the end of the road.

It is dificult to find, go out of the Medina in direction to the Mintza Hotel (Bol Pasteur) until you arrive to the Terrasse of the Paresseux, cross the street, walk down and turn the second street on the righ and the first on the left and here we are! Full of locals eating there, fresh fish and meat, Great choice specially the prices a 100% suggestion Ask for the harira soup and a sandwiche, they do it of Tuna or Kafka (minced meat), I would suggest to ask them not to put mayonaise, the rest is great food and really good priced!!! Harira soup by Carmela71 HARIRA I just love this soup of peas, it is very strong, and a little spicy, just great. TAJINES This can be with chicken, lamb and other meats, everyone makes it differently, mainly is an stew lovely cooked in a special ceramic pot CUSCCOUS Most of us we have heard about this dish, maybe the most international one. A really heavy meal that consists in boiled/ steamed vegetables and meat with semolina. Leave a Comment Theme: Local

When we planned going to Tangier for the weekend, one of the options was this hotel, more expensive but more stars. But staying at the Hotel Continental was a great decision as Hotel Minzah is too modern and do not have the spirit and atmosphere of the Continental. Not far from city centre just North of Grand Zoco at walking distance, they have two restaurants, one morocco cuisine and another one with international one. A nice terrace to seat in the evenings with guitars music. As Olga suggested, we went for a dinner at the Morocco one that they had music and dances, well it was music all night but only five minutes belly dancing (and we had seen recently in Verona Meeting many better ones ;-)))) and another 2 minutes of another typical dance. But I would repeat again, the food was incredible, here you could order wine or beer (not like in the hotel at the Medina) and the decoration and atmosphere had a 10/10. We miss it this time, but if you go try the Cuscus, it looked great! Leave a Comment

by Carmela71 The breakfast is included at the price of the room (around 450 dirhans = 45 euros), it is not very original if you stay more than a few days and it consist in a dish with a piece of bread, butter, jam, a croissant a Danish pastry and a chocolate croissant. It sounds good but they are small ones and not really tasty and sometimes hard. Better not talk about the coffee served in thermos, I would suggest to ask for the tee… But the best is the room where you have the breakfast. First of all you go to reception and go direction to the exit, just before turn right and follow the corridor of the coloured windows and turn right. Here you will get lost at the corridors full of old doors and windows and other old stuff, walking around the patio. Take the stairs up to the first floor and on your right is the “Alhambra room” (as I call it) where breakfast is served. Leave a Comment Theme: Breakfast

Lamb Tagine with vegtables and bread by dlytle Little streetside and alleyway bistro's are found all over.
The Petit Socco - where cafes and hotels crowd around – is as good a spot as any to have a meal. Although it's a Muslim country, alcohol is served in quite a few places in Tangier. Actually the manufacture of beer and spirits was one of its industries so it shouldn't be hard to have a beer with your lunch. For your meal, try the Moroccan national dish, tagine (pronounced ‘tah-JEEN’), a kind of stew named for the pot in which it's cooked, and whose ingredients vary greatly from place to place. The tagine’s are cone shaped clay dishes in which the meal dishes are cooked and served piping hot. They consist of two parts: a round pot (traditionally clay), and a conical cover with a small hole which allows some steam to escape. Tagine (the meal) is a Moroccan dish of slow-cooked meat, fruit & vegetable dishes which are almost invariably made with mutton. Sometimes lamb is used and sometimes hogget (older than lamb, younger than mutton, commonly labeled "baking legs" is used in place of the mutton. The locals will often use beef to make this meal as they get over-dosed on mutton and lamb for so many of their meals throughout the year. With couscous, a grain-like pasta, and mint tea - the other Moroccan staple - it hits the spot. If you want a bit more refined repast, order up the pastilla, flaky pastry stuffed with pigeon and almonds. Moroccan food is unique and flavorful, and worth investigating. Palace in a restuarnat or the other way? by Carmela71 The restaurant of the hotel was as the rest of the hotel a place to let you mind travel through time, we were trying to guess which of the chairs we were in, was the one where Churchill sat years ago or where Coppola had his lunch.. or … a long list the one that includes all the famous people that had sit there… As we were half board, we could choose which meal we wanted, lunch or dinner. All really good. As most of the experiences in Morocco at the beginning is always difficult but later on we became good friends of the waiter, he was very helpful ! Standard price for a meal there is around 10 euros per person or less (for example water, soup and kebah and dessert) Leave a Comment Theme: LocalComparison: about averageAddress: Rue Dar El Baroud, Medina (Old Town)

Near the Mintza hotel, stairs down to the Zoco, You can easily miss it! Leave a Comment Theme: LocalAddress: Rue de la Liberte
