Hi,
I have a friend who has spent many a New Years Eve in Tangier, he tells me that most NYE events in hotels or clubs will have an inflated cover charge. He suggests "Casa Espana" they hold a typical Spanish NYE party, with no cover charge. It might be a good idea to make a reservation.

Raihani's serves traditional Moroccan food as well as French cuisine. The food is first class; try their fish, harira and pastilla. They have a small garden out back where you can sit, eat and enjoy the balmy Moroccan evenings. A beautiful restaurant, lovely decorated, partly in an Andaluz style, with a friendly atmosphere. They are serving, of course their speciality and traditional dishes. We got fine entrees here and the popular couscous plate shared with our new found friends from Canada. What we found very unique of this place is the kitchen. The cooking is made at the second floor while the guests are in the first floor. It is a sort of a feet-workout, i think, with its almost 20 steps. Yes, I know that it sounds weird to go to Tangier/Morocco and visit a chinese restaurant. However, for those who don't like moroccan food or have tried it and still don't like it, here I bring this option. The restaurant of the hotel was as the rest of the hotel a place to let you mind travel through time, we were trying to guess which of the chairs we were in, was the one where Churchill sat years ago or where Coppola had his lunch.. or … a long list the one that includes all the famous people that had sit there…
As we were half board, we could choose which meal we wanted, lunch or dinner. All really good. As most of the experiences in Morocco at the beginning is always difficult but later on we became good friends of the waiter, he was very helpful !
Standard price for a meal there is around 10 euros per person or less (for example water, soup and kebah and dessert)

The restauarnt in the campsite was actually really nice believe it or not, it was overlooking the pool and the monkeys would run about and entertain you but not annoy you. Morroccan tea is popular with locals, it contains tea leaves, lots of sugar and stuffed with local mint, really tasty and suprisingly refreshing. It wont cost you much at all. This is quite large restaurant with an outside terrace with a view over the lighthouse put among palm trees. The restaurant was empty when we got there. The waiter was very nice but couldn't speak English. Luckily there was a menu in English. We had to wait quite long for our meals but... I can't complain. And the restaurant located in rather touristy place was suprisingly economic.
We had typical Moroccan meals: fish and royal (meat) couscous which were served with seasonal salads and fruits and tasted very good which made both my wife and me happy for the rest of the first - not the best - day in Morocco.
