    Airport

The first time I get to Morocco I came to Tanger's airport by taxi from the port.

uhhhh I must say it was a really strange experience ... it was a very little airport with nothing to do inside and empty of everything.

As I was there sitting, there was no music, but the someone reading or singing the Coran.

The boarding card was hand writing.

Morocco have a great train. I did take the train from Tanger to Fes. The train is clean and safe and the train workers are very helpful and nice. I did take a seat at first class, but the other is also ok.It was puntcual.

A seller use to pass by from time to time to sell you sandwiches, drinks and sweets.
Tanger have a new train station, a nice big and modern building. The others train station where I have been where also clean and confortable to wait at them.

So if you have to travel around Morocco the train is a good cheap way to do it.

You can get more information about times and stops at its web page.

I toke a Ferry from Algeciras (South of Spain) to Tanger (North of Morocco) . I used
Trasmediterranea for going and frs for coming back to Spain.
    http://www.trasmediterranea.com/homei.htm
    http://www.frs.es/eng/index.htm

The travel is so beautiful ... from Spain to Morroco you see the incredible coast of Tarifa .. you can see very clear Bolonia Beach with its beautiful white dunes ...

by Trasmediterranea you can go at the deck if you dont take the fast ferry ...

I recomend use a normal ferry for one way and a fast one (trasmediterranea or frs) to the other way ...

Trasmediterranea normal ferries are not the most clean ... and they only speak french ...

FRS ... are much more modern and clean ...

but .... going at the deck of Trasmediterranea normal ferry is something that makes the clean or not of the ferry cares nothing.

REMEMBER TO FILL THE PAPERS TO GET IN MORROCO BEFORE GETING TO THE PORT OF TANGER

This last time I have take NAUTUS to get to Tanger from Algeciras I WILL NEVER TAKE THIS COMPANY AGAIN ... THEY LIE ABOUT THE TIME THEY ARE GETTING OF AND THEY ARE ALWAYS LATE. (They say they are FAST FERRY, but with them you will spend ages to arrive to your destination)

As you arrive to Tanger by ferry you will find many men offering you their car as taxi. They will ask you much more money that they should, so you will have to fight for a good price before you get in the car.

Like I told in the beginning, we went there with the boat from a harbour near by Torremolinos (Spain) straight to Tanger. It’s very nice to see when you sail trough the Straights of Gibraltar how close the Dolphins swimming around the boat. It's really, really cute…

    Night Train Tanger to Marrakech

  • The night train from Tangier departs at 9.05pm and arrives in Marrakech at 8.05am, A first class couchette costs 350Dh and has 4 births, This method of travel is safe as the attendant locks the carriage at night. The benefit of this is that you will have time in the day to explore Tangier (Left luggage is available just outside the port on the right up the hill) There is no left luggage at the station. You will also save one nights accomodation in Marrakech.
