My first visit to Aglou we ate in the restaurant where we stayed at Hotel Aglou Beach - paying 55 dirham each for a huge plate of seafood each.
3 or so years later with another friend we chose a cafe at the end of the restaurants and cafes along the promenade - eve though the first one you come to had loads of people at it - the place we chose had a huge but clean eating area inside and friendly and well dressed waiters and we were able to sit outside in the sun under a sun umbrella - the menu and prices were okay and though the waiter reckoned that one plate of seafood wouldnt be enough for 2 people to share I reckoned that wouldnt be the case and we were right!
We ordered a salade nicoise each - for 12 dirham each - which is a plate of various salad vegetables arranged on a plate with a big dollop of mayonnaise - and a mixed seafood platter for 70 dirham - I also ordered a large coffee for 12 dirham.
Favorite Dish: The whole lot was very good - though I didnt quite enjoy the seafood as much as I would have hoped - there is a tendency in many places serving seafood to overcook the calamari and fish and also I dont so much like small fish like sardines (unless they are squashed on toast!)
It was a bargain for lunch though - 49 dirham which is just under £4 (depending on the exchange rate! - as the sterling was down against the dirham this trip from the usual 15-16 dirham to 13-14 dirham for £1) in a lovely setting in the sun after coming from cold London!
