street vendors: try something new

by TomorrowsAngel

Try something new to eat or drink .... if you go to some place where the locals are eating, then you know that the food is good... We ate in Djemma el-Fna in Marrakesh, from Quartier Habous in Casablanca, and from tagines in the High Atlas Berber villages.Sure, our hotels had lovely restaurants, but it's fun to have a culinary adventure also... Narwama: Morroccan Thai Restuarant

by meaganelizabeth

the decor is really fabulous, when we went in the afternoon, there was a huge fashion photo shoot going on. The menu is Thai and Morroccan. Its name is Narwama, and it is behind the clubmed, next to the Jardins hotel. you will see two lanterns that lead down an alley, walk down the alley and to the back. They also have live music and belly dancers, and the food is actually great, especially since this was the only good meal we had in Morrocco, even though we spent a fortune on food. The owner was great, he even took us to an amazing party after our meal. The address is rue koutoubia, 30. I had a fish dish, and my friend had something Thai. This place is huge, and so beautiful. You must check it out. The very nice restaurants in Morocco are $60 and up a person. They are all gorgeous, but the others are much less desireable. Its not loud or overcrowded. This restuarant after wine and...

Dar Fes: Cuisine fassi...à Marrakech...

by grovier

Jamii, Fes: Don't Miss this Real Traditional Quisine

by tonirvana

1. Why did I try this one? we selected this 'Jamii restaurant' from the lonely planet guidebook.2. What do they serve? they serve traditional Moroccan dishes in 5-6 courses from appetizer, main dish to dessert. 3. Taste? very very excellent!!! My love for Moroccan cuizine began here. 4. Price? between 100-150 / person. don't remember exact price and currency5. Where? somewhere behind Hotel Sofitel in Fes. but quite difficult to find out on your own. you 'must' make a reservation first - they do dishes only for reserved guests - and then they'd pick you up. soup Pastiya

Restaurant Ahlen: Great and Cheap Restaurant in Tangiers's Medina

by Paul2001

The odd thing about Tangiers is that although it does not have a great deal attractions worth a visit it does have a large quantity of quality restaurant. I ate better Tangiers than in any city in Morocco. Probably my favourite and most delightful surprise was the Restaurant Ahlen, located smack in the middle of the medina. The service here is both friendly and efficient. My waiter who I think was actually the owner of the establishment actually seemed to be thrilled that I stepped into his restaurant. This might be because foriegn tourists are something of a rarity here.Sadly I do not think the restaurant serves alcohol. I had an excellent chicken tangine here

THE ONE NEXT DOOR TO THE EL BAHIA!!: BEST PRICED CAFE IN AGADIR!!

by mickeyjane1

THIS IS A LOCAL CAFE RIGHT NEXT DOOR TO THE HOTEL EL BAHIA..DONT EXPECT A LUXURIOUS SETTING BUT THE FOOD IS LOVELY, ICY COLD COLA IS SERVED OR MINT TEA, AND IT IS SO CHEAP!!THE BEST PART OF THIS CAFE IS THE GENTLEMAN WHO OWNS/WORKS THERE..HE IS SO SWEET, EVERY TIME I WENT THERE HE WOULD BRING OUT A LOVELY COMFORTABLE CHAIR FOR ME TO SIT ON...RATHER THAN THE PLASTIC ONES. HE WOULD ALWAYS INSIST ON THIS.I ALSO USED TO LOVE SITTING OUTSIDE AND WATCH LOCAL LIFE GO BY.....FASCINATING!! OMELETTES

Fantastic Moroccan food.

by mfwagner

Morocco has a wonderful food culture. The Berbers of Morocco were the first to make couscous. Then there are tajines, mint tea, cummin omelets, fresh bread, amazingly sweet dates, goat cheese, freshly squeezed orange juice, the catch of the day in Essaouira and the incredible night markets of Marrakesh.

Maison de Massa: Breakfast and museum in Massa

by sachara

On our way from Tan Tan to El Jadida we stopped in Massa for having a breakfast. Maison de Massa has also rooms for rent at a green innercourt, which at the same time served as a museum. You can see many Moroccon traditional object from the region. We ordered our breakfast just in time, just before some minibusses from Agadir arrived. It seemed to be a popular spot for coffee in the morning for the tours coming from the hotels of Agadir. We had a delicious breakfast with omelettes.

Drinks en route

by sachara

Everywhere in Morocco along the road in the towns and villages you can find small shops or stalls, where you can buy water or softdrinks. Also it's possible to have a seat and drink a glass of the sweet mint tea or to take a small snack, like we did on our way from Marrakesh to Agadir.

Little man with Stall in Chaouen: Street Food

by blint

The food I bought from the little man selling Tajines and Sandwiches on the street is the best food I've tasted. I love spicy food and this mans fish tajine made with sardines was very spicy. His sardine sandwiches made with pita bread and vegetable too is also superb!I thought that maybe I could get ill if it was unhygienic, but I didn't. I took a picture of the stall so I could surprise people by telling them this was the best restaurant I've eaten in!Another great thing is the stall next door sells glasses of freshly squeezed natural orange juice! Sardine tajine because it's very spicy and the sauce contained other great herbs and spices that made it taste great! It's VERY cheap too!
