General tips: Don't get sucked in!
Most touts and hotels are going to direct you to expensive, western-style restaurants. The food is poor quality, the service is over-bearing at times and non-existent when you really need it, and the atmosphere is bland. You will find yourself in an artificially created rendition of what foreigners expect of Morocco.A beer or a glass of wine is not so great that you should trade the real thing for same old stuff you get back home. Prices are outrageous too. Check out the roasted chicken cafes or the maqooda stands. Try the brochette sandwiches in the kiosks. Check out the sizzling tagines in the open air places. Eat with the locals. This is where you will get the best food in Morocco. and the best prices.
