Well sure here the prices are exaggerated, but it is the only way to keep the village alive, no more other resources for it, only trade and commercial affaires, well the best cartier for it is the Berber one!

Babouge is the typical Moroccan slippers It is the most wanted souvenir to be bought by a tourist when they are in Morocco! They are comfortable and you can deliver it and wait until the shoemaker will do it before your eyes some times, which gives you a special taste *LOL not of the slipper but of the process*

How cliched is that?! Come to Morocco and buy a carpet. But if you want something practical to take home to decorate your house then this is a good bet and can be excellent value for money. Berber rugs and carpets of all sizes, designs and colours can be found in pretty much every souk in Morocco. Obviously a lot of bargaining is required and quality isn't always the same - some souks sell pretty rubbish mass produced versions. But most are the genuine article and will last for years. Proper Berber rugs are hand-made and can take months to make. The best bet is to go directly to Berber shops or co-operatives in smaller towns and less well known villages - obviously if you buy in Marrakech there will be a significant mark-up and much of the profit goes to middle-men instead of the poor woman who actually made it. Many places accept credit cards and will ship to your home address (although...

Acually it is not a shop, but a house where some rare items are on display. These include traditional mats, terra cotta, slippers, jewley and carpets, but the highlight of the 'shop-house' is the lamps made from glass and wrought iron. you can pick and choose from a wide array of local objects our prices are fixed, so need for haggling.
With Moroccan inspired interior decorations on the rise across the US, buy the local crafts! We found the best time to buy was at night an hour or two before closing. We happened upon this idea while shopping for a Berber rug in the medina in Fes. We didn't have time to shop for a rug during the day and set out to look for one after dinner. We found out that many merchants were very willing to make one final sale before closing. One merchant said to us that it brings good luck for business the next day.
In the medina off the huge square, you're bound to come across herbal shops piled high with lavender & other exotic herbs. and caged iguanas. sells beauty products from the desert, supposedly used by Berber women. I tried kohl from rock, lipstick from plant & the BEST lip balm in the world. works well & a nice natural red. I live in fear that it'll finish soon. very authentic packaging - its container is made from recycled tin. Mine was from cooking oil container, complete with arabic characters. USD0.50.and dont forget to buy a huge bunch of dried lavender for USD 0.50 for your friends. and the cutest Moroccan man sells these things. look at him! it was fun bargaining. on a sidetrack, Moroccon men are 1 of the most handsome people i've ever seen. no joke. and being an obvious tourist, the handsome men actually smile back. now, how do u get that at home?? :) Traditional Berber...

Not quite a shop, more of a small piece of cloth ont he road. Between Tetouan and Tangier there are countless small boys hanging off cliffs harvesting prickly pears from the tips of large spiked cactii! They sell them at the roadside to passers-by. Although I didn't eat any it was worth a diram or two to watch the boys' skills! Prickly Pear! As little as possible
Do you like silver as a form of jewlery? If you do you won't be dissapointed in Morocco. There are rings, necklaces, bracelets and bangles everywhere. Cheap and decrorative they make nice presnts to bring home. Not expensive and again it will be up to your bargaining powers.

Most craft shops and local markets that attract tourists. Pottery of all shapes and sizes, for may different uses can be found on sale all over Morocco. Not the easiest thing to carry around, especially when returning home, but if packed carefully it can make a lovely souvineer of your trip. You will have to bargain hard for the best deal.

In Morocco are a lot of tourist shops in every town where tourist will come. You can find all kind of local crafts, pottery, leather goods, jewellery, clothes, slippers, carpets and much more.If you want to buy something, it's good to look around first at several shops before you make your choice and find something out about prices. And bargaining is of course part of the job.In Agadir, Marrakech, Zagora and Ait Ben Haddou I found so my favourite shops for Berber, Mauretanian and Tuareg stuff I liked.
