Bicycle in Sahara

by johnsakura

This sport activity consists on getting a bicyle and ride it in the desert tracks of Sahara. If you get one of this ones I got from local friends, brakes dont really exist, dont speed too much then...You can ride the bicycle all the way of the dunes of Erg Chebbi in a total (circle trip) of 20km. You pas many hotels, 2 lakes, one with flamingoes and 3 villages (one of them is Merzouga). Bicycle. Water. Money if you have problems.

Normal jump. just run, run and run towards the end of the dune and lift your bodey as high as you can. JUMP JUMP JUMP!Try not to fall on top of the dune but many metres above the top, as you can actually jump at least 4 up to 5 metres... Dont hurt yourself...cos when you hit the ground it will be tough... you in good shape and feeling a bit crazy...

High Round Kick with body in low position. You just have to deep your feet into the sand not to fall as sand dont give you body balance. Turn your body down (begin moving your head first) and lift your leg the higher you can. Kick hard. After the kick lift your body (start again with your head as lifting point) up. Enjoy the view of Sahara. haha You in nice shape...

Side kick on top of a dune. You can run a few meters just to have enough strenght to jump. Take in consideration that sand takes your impulsion away, when you make your feet up, the power you would get from the floor just deeps itself into the sand, so you loose boost. You can choose kicking in direction not of the line your walking (top of dune) but side of it where is deep and take advantage of the high to kick hard! You in nice shape...

Trekking

by girladventure

The High Atlas mountains provide some of the most impressive mountain walking anywhere. You can do half-hour walks to 3-10+ days trek to the High Atlas mountains. For hiking Mt Toubkal - the highest peak in the country- start from Imlil. To visit Berber villages try Tafrout as a base. For Camel trekking, it can be arranged at the hotels in the desert area or tourist offices. Best time is Sep-Oct.Check these websites:http://www.bootsnall.com/travelstories/africa/feb03morocco.shtmlhttp://www.keadventure.com/trip/activities.php?c=3&a=1

The beautiful game

by mafi_moya

Football is far and away the number one sport in Morocco. Everywhere you go there will be gangs of kids kicking a ball about and proclaiming themselves the next Zidane, Ronaldo and Beckham. Older people also play but as a whole prefer to sit in the coffee shop and watch Real Madrid on TV. It's one of the few places I've been where the English league is not the most popular - Spain is the number one here. No accounting for taste I guess! When Morocco play, as in the African Nations Cup, every man in the country is likely to be locked in front of a screen.

Rock climbing

by mafi_moya

The Todra Gorge is one of Morocco's best spots for rock climbing. 300 metre high sheer rock faces at each side of the narrow gorge make for a very challenging and exciting climb - or so I'm told anyway! You can hire equipment there and there are local 'experts' (so they said) who can give you some training. But it's probably not one for beginners.

Bringing the world to Morocco

by mafi_moya

Africa has been guaranteed that it will host the 2010 FIFA World Cup and Morocco is one of the front-runners. So the whole world could be focusing on the country in a few years. Not sure what they'll make of plane loads of English football fans though!
