We were able to take a two day trip to a Berber village near Marrakech. We stayed in a family's home and helped them cook a meal. Our guide translated for us, so we were able to communicate a bit with the family.
It was a very good side trip from Marrakech. The people were very kind to us. I think it is good for travellers who want to see more of the rural parts of Morocco.

In this quiet side neighborhood of Amizmiz, we stayed at the home of Moroccan family. Each day we did different things-- one day watching the potters at work (one even let us try!), the next having a cooking lesson to see some traditional dishes made. Another day we spent at a woman's cooperative where they prepared couscous from scratch. The people were so kind and made us feel right at home! Hiking through the mountain valleys was quite an experience, as our guide showed us some beautiful areas.
