Suuq of Marrakesh, Marrakesh
Favorite thing: There is a market near the town square. In spite of shopping, it is worth sight seeing too. The market mainly sell the carpets, slippers, lamps, T-shirsts, decorations, etc. Pls remember you can ask for a discount.
Go to the old part of town. That's where all the markets are and even if you don't want to buy anything it is something to see.
Fondest memory: Going into the market with the smell of the spices surrounding your senses. Have the oranges~they are just so sweet.
Place where men work wood.
you can try to find the souks workshops, where artisans built and fabric their local craft.
Favorite thing: Going north on the Rue Souq Smarine you find the following trades: Textiles, Wool, Apothecary stalls (on Rehba Qadima), Carpets, Jewellery and Leather.
Favorite thing: Berber leather district in the suuqs. smelly!! buy a hand full of mint to use on your nose when you visit this spot.
Fondest memory: If you happen to wander into the Souk, don't forget to pop in to the one of many bread shops... and see them bake bread - the 'old fashioned' way!
