    ..maybe that is why they are in such perfect condition...

    as according to the Koran it was not allowed to show person's faces on a painting or sculpture the traditional decorations for houses and Mosques are geometrical signs and patterns

    but finally in 1917 someone accidentally found the entrance hidden behind some rocks and vegetation

    Todays entrance looks was restored and nowadays, you would not understand that this place was not detected before

    In Ouriki we saw except a lot of vegetables also fruits from the fertile valley.
    We enjoyed a lot to walk around at this part of the local market. It was nice to look, what's happened here. And of course we bought some of the delicious local fruit.

    Walking in the Sahara Desert is fun but be sure to have enough water and a guide! Don't travel alone and always wear a hat! The sun is shining very intensive and temperature may increase to 50°C.

    I stop in small villege to finne a plaza full of little girls....their brothers were in the fiells with their fathers...their mothers at home...it was a placer to see how happy their were that i took them for a litle ride in my car...

    A visit to the Atlas Mountains is a must for the visitors who can afford a few spare days. Otherwise, if you visit the city in the Winter time, take a carriage ride around the city walls. The view of the snow covered mountains from the as background to the red-brick walls and the palm trees is unforgettable and one of the images that best sumps up the essence of Marrakesh.

  • I hardly had any time when I went, but if I did, I would have definitely looked into making an excursion into the nearby Atlas Mountains. In April when I went, there was still plenty of snow on the mountain tops. I saw posters advertising tours into the Mountains, but I would have explored the possibility of trekking thru a part of it.

    That shall be for another time.

    Driving out of town you come along such trees and, believe it or not, on the boughs of the tree are jumping goats. Amazing! This is because during the summer month it hardly rains in Morocco and gras doesn't grow. Leaves are the best alternative to the yellow strawy gras.!
