From 06h00 on 7 December until 22h00 on 08 January 2007, the Lebombo / Ressano Garcia border was opened 24 hours daily in order to facilitate the high volumes of seasonal travellers expected as from the 7th of December.

On the South African side at the Lebombo / Ressano Garcia International border there's a Cholera prevention control.
Right after the double passport control check (one on the Mozambican side and the other on the South Africa side), travelers are supposed to put their both feet inside a white plastic box for shoes antiseptic cleaning.
South African police are nearby to make sure every single visitor from Mozambique entering South Africa accomplish the required procedure
