Even though we were at border post since 5 in the morning it took us 4-5 hours to get through, not sure if its going better now but plan well, maybe some refreshment or eats for the wait.
Although many cars in Mocambique are not roadworthy, they quick to fine tourists if your car not roadworthy, so.... make sure
Speed fines are heavy( one million metticas or more) and must be paid on the spot!!! so if driving drive way under speed limit
Be careful with the mosquitos, particularly in the north of the country. Take your medicine.
Malaria is a problem in Mozambique. Start taking your anti-malaria pills as per instruction...
Malaria. Corrupt officials. Bribes are expected everywhere. Must have the local currency in hand for emergencies/bribes/fines etc.Tends to flood severly in rainy season - end of Jan to March.
Don't forget your malaria prophylactics!
Make sure about road conditions before venturing into rural areas. Here I'm negotiating one of several flooded sections of the road to a resort near Inhambane.
