Stop and shop!

by smirnofforiginal

Along this strip of road you will find women selling their dried squash (they make good, odd maracas) and kindling. You will also find plenty of little stalls selling amazing wooden crafts - from the easy to fit in your suitcase or backpack to pieces the size of an elephant! The hellicopters are incredible.I have no idea why they sell these dried squash - I don't think they are aimed at the random tourist. However, my lady was delighted that I bought 3 and then over the moon that I returned with apples for the kids.

Game Reserves in Caprivi

by georeiser

The middle half of the Caprivi strip is called Caprivi game reserve. It's along the Okavango River for about 180 km until it meets the Kwando River in the east. The terrain is flat with woodlands. There are a lot of elephants there, and you can see them from the car window when driving on the Caprivi highway. There are also two smaller reserves on the south-eastern side, Mudumu National Park and Mamili National Park.

The sunrice in Caprivi

by georeiser

The nightbus from Windhoek to Katima Mulilo enter the Caprivi region in the morning, and the beautiful sunrice in the flat landscape is spectacular.
