The coast in Swakopmund

A place in Swakopmund visited by many local fishermen or/and people loving a beautiful sunrise or sundown. In previous time a boarding place for fisherboats
Next to the beach there is a remarkable "Arnold Shad" promenade, decorated by many palmtrees and local flora.

On the way in to town you can make a short turn off to see the Martin Luther Museum. The guide books all refer to it as a train, but this is a bit misleading, as this "train" never ran on tracks. The Martin Luther is really a steam-powered tractor that pulled three carts behind it.

It's been restored; rebuilt is probably closer to the truth as most of the original parts appear to have been replaced.
