by THLIN It's really funny for me, because I never ENJOY natural hair drier. It's do dray that you don't even need any hair drier after washing your hair. This rule is not for man only, but also good for lady with long hair. So, next time no worry for your wet hair. But it may be a little bit annoying if your hair is easily damaged. XD Leave a Comment

Namibia means different things to different people. But there's no doubt that the common thread through everyone's feelings is based on the awesome natural phenomenon of the country. The vast tracts of unpopulated land that stretch forever. The incredible Soussusvlei dunes. The ghostly coastline. The harshness. And of course, man's insignificance. Leave a Comment

mountain zebra by Bigjones Before going to Namibia, I didn't know there are in fact two kinds of zebras : the Hartmann's mountain zebras living in the mountains and the Burchell’s zebras that have shadow lines between their black stripes. We saw them from the top of the mountain and went down to see them closer. In fact, they seemed as curious as we were and didn't run away very quickly. Leave a Comment

by SirRichard In Independence Avenue, you can find this little old houses that make you think of Bavaria, more than Africa. Most of them are now tourist shops and offices. At left side you can see the Kalahari Sands Hotel, a classical here and a common meeting point for safaris... Leave a Comment

by SirRichard Skyline of Independence Avenue, the main avenue in Windhoek, and the place to go if you need to go shopping or a good restaurant. Here you can find the Post Office, from where you can make phone calls, send/receive faxes and change money. You can find a good shopping mall and Tourist Info in Post Street, a pedestrian street just in front of the Post Office. Leave a Comment

Bri & the giraffe by Bigjones This is the first giraffe we saw in Namibia. Apart from giraffes, these are some of the animals we saw in Okapuka : - wildebeests - hartebeests - springboks - gemsboks (= oryx) - white rhinos (endangered) - vultures - wood sandpipers Leave a Comment

The lion king by Bigjones Another great moment : we went with our guide to give a piece of giraffe to the lions. Protected by a wall and an electric fence, we were able to see a lion and a lionness very close to us and of course, to hear them as well. Leave a Comment

Bluetiful bird by Bigjones One of our favourite animals in Namibia, this multicoloured bird is even more impressive and beautiful when it spreads its blue wings. We saw it in the logde's garden but also in Etosha National Parc. Leave a Comment

White rhinos by Bigjones Seeing these rhinos is one of my fondest memories, I'd never thought it was possible to be so close to them. We stopped the car there for a while and watch them eat their grass without paying any attention to us ;-) Leave a Comment

Days are mostly hot days during November, December, January and February, while nights are cooler. The maximum temperature in January is 31°C. June, July and August are cold with little rain. Minimum temperature at 5°C in the day and 0°C in the nights. It almost never snows. Windhoek is a semi-desert region. When I was there in July, the air was so dry that I had problems with my lips and skin. Leave a Comment
