HAVE A BRAAI

by DAO

There is nothing better than getting some really good red meat, building a real wood fire and cooking over hot coals outside with your friends. Through a couple of cold beers into the mix and you have the perfect Namibian evening. You just need: a place to braai (barbeque), some firewood, Texas steak from Shoprite (already marinated – pictured) and some good fresh Boerewors (special sausages – pictured). Most importantly – you needs some friends to join you. Peppercorn sauce with mushrooms is optional, but I like it. And share your coals with the neighbours when you are finished!

ELECTRICITY IN NAMIBIA

by DAO

Electricity in Namibia is 220 Volts, alternating at 50 cycles per second. They use the round, South African pins. So if you are from Western Europe, you need an adapter. If you are from North America, you need a converter or your electrical item will blow up. I thought I would put this here as I took these pictures here in Swakopmund.
