Sand Dunes of the Namibian Desert

Stretching 1,200 miles in length,
but averaging a width of only 70 miles,
the Namib Desert is home to the highest sand dunes in the world.

Orange sand as long as I could see with a plant or small tree here and there and dunes. Not very much really but so beautiful and peaceful.

Said to be the oldest and driest desert in the world, with Namib-Naukluft Park being one of the world's largest national parks. With dunes as high as 300m it is also the highest.

Well worth the climb over the dunes to see the 3000-year old dead trees on the flat, dried white pan. Great photo opportunities. Just follow the markers.
