The old quarter
The old quarter of the town is a maze of tiny, wide, crooked, sandy streets closed between two curtains of brown walls, hiding houses and courtyards of the typical Sudanese style. You can wander around, enter a courtyard, climb a steep staircase, reach the roof terrace and have a wonderful view of the city and the surrounding Air mountains and desert, in complete loneliness.
