 | Niamey Shopping | Tips 1 - 4 of 4 | | Popular Shopping | Other Shopping Tips | All Tips (4) The Wadata Artisan market, not to be confused with the local Wadata market just down the street, was built with aid from Luxembourg. In the main building, you can find many of the local crafts for sale with reasonable set prices for fairly high quality work. Crafts include leather boxes, shoes, jewelry, fabrics and clothing, pottery, baskets, etc. It is a good place to at least look around, so you can get an idea of prices, and where to start bargaining if you want to buy on the street. Next to the petit marche, Tout Pour has a little bit of everything. Imported, of course, and at very high prices, but if you need a halloween mask, a French version of Scrabble, ice cube trays, or whatever, you can probably find it here. Leave a Comment Theme: Department Store

At many beauty shops you can get a henna tattoo. Alternatively, someone will come to your house or hotel to do it. The process involves putting the henna "mud" on your hands or feet, letting it dry, rubbing vinegar over the design, and then smoking your hands and feet in a clay pot.
Henna tattooing is strictly for women
depending on the designs, no more than about $5-$10 US total Leave a Comment Theme: Bath and Beauty
