During the month of Jan, Niger celebrates Tabaski (Bakrid). The festival is marked by sacrifice of a Goat. The residents sacrifice the goat, and latter the goat is distributed to relatives and neighbours in their vicinity. I had the opportunity to visit the country during the time and was also able to taste the local delicacies there.

If you want to by a coke and take it with you home you have to have an empty bottle to give to the seller instead of the full bottle or you can by coke in the only inside store in Niamey and pay a little more for the bottles.
Tourists of course pay more for almost everything. The language is french and very few understand english.
