I took a lot of photos from the car because there is a general rule about not taking photos of important sights and stuff around Niger... guess the people are still camera shy and the authorities are still very suspicious of photography in Niger.
Advisory from the Niger embassy website also confirms this:
Visitors are asked to refrain from photographing the Presidential residence, airports, all administrative and military buildings, and private citizens without their permission.
However, I found most people to be very obliging!

One of the typical sights you can see around Niger once you move a little bit away from the administrative center of town. Animals are an important part of transportation still.
