This restaurant is off the rondpoint by the Grand Hotel. You cannot miss this restaurant in the night, as you will see lots of Christmas lights hanging out the restaurant. We spent the 2004 Christmas here as we had no other option with us as we landed in niamey just a day before. But I must say it was not a disappointment and there was enough to eat and drink. The food is good. You can opt for the interiors or sit out side in the garden.
Lunch and dinner timings (1200 – 1400 and 1900 – 2400).

I just so happened to come across a great little bar in Rue Rivoli, just around the corner from the main BIA Niger bank. The owner William is a really down to earth Australian guy, formerly a photographer who settled in Niamey. The bar had been open for about five weeks when I was first there in Nov 2005...It's a very modern bar/restaurant which wouldn't look out of place in any modern city. It has a couple of large flat screens, great to catch up on some of the sport if your into that..
Food was very reasonable...main courses about 3000 CFA.
It was just a treat, kind of bolt hole really.....and i ended up there taking breakfast most days,
and back in the evening. William is a mind of information, particularly if your interested in photography.....but will also give you the rundown of interesting places to visit in Niamey.

This is the place white people go for west african food, and its pricey. You can get any type of staple, and virtually any type of stew, tho, which makes it a great place for trying all the different foods.
