Favorite thing: The National Mosque is the most impressive sight in Abuja. It is huge and shiny and you can't miss it. Built in the 1980s, it also houses a library, religious school and a conference hall. The mosque has been proclaimed a national monument belonging to all Nigerians by the Nigerian President.
I was told that as a non-muslim woman I wouldn't be allowed to enter.
I risked my life climbing on the roof of Sheraton to get this picture of the mosque. Don't tell anyone.
