Lagos Nightlife

Very popular and fun place to hang, especially if you're staying on Ikoyi Island. They have live and DJ'd music and a fun upstairs "VIP" area. There's also an outdoor place with great music across the street.

Club Do It All is located on Allen Avenue in Ikeja, Lagos. Arguably the nicest looking club I've been to in Lagos. The music is hip-hop and R&B. The club gets going after 11:00PM. No different than in the U.S.

The place is filled with beautiful women and unlike back home, they outnumber the men at least two to one. The crowd is a mix of locals and "foreign investor" types i.e. middle-aged white men. So those who might be afraid to venture out from the gated confines of the Sheraton--you might do alright here.

There are three bars located in the club. One in the pool room. One outside, and one inside near the dancefloor. I'm not a heavy drinker, but beverages were reasonably priced. I didn't see anything over 1,000 Naira, mind you I don't drink Moet.

The place has a nice laid back atmosphere outside. Balanced by a throwdown party vibe inside. There's something for almost everyone here.

Dress Code: Guys--nice slacks, or jeans/sandals, sneakers, or dress shoes. In other words...no dress code. Women--short skirts, stiletto heels, tight tops, tights jeans or slacks.

Options is a nightclub on Allen Avenue in Ikeja, Lagos. It is located in a complex separate from a flophouse/brothel-level hotel, but don't be discouraged from venturing in. The DJ is incredible and the nightclub itself looks great. One demerit would definitely be the men's bathroom, but you don't go to a club to hang out in those.

Although it opens around 9:00PM (I think), things don't get started until around midnight. The large dancefloor and music (American, and Nigerian R&B, and Hip-Hop) keep the crowd moving.

Allen Avenue is home to at least half a dozen clubs and bars, so if this place isn't your cup of tea, move on to the next one. Admission fee ranges from 500-1000 Naira (127 Naira=$1 US).

I am African-American, so this place and many of the spots on Allen looked and had a vibe no different than the clubs and bars in Atlanta, DC, or Philly. If you are not of African descent you might be a bit intimidated. Stay at the Sheraton if so.

Dress Code: Men--come as you are. All are welcome! Women are mostly in club gear i.e. close to naked. Like I said, very similar to US clubs.

In Lagos nightlife seems to be more fun than daylife. Yes, because day time comes with struggles for survival and in the night, most people would like to cool off and have fun. The areas mentioned are usually very populated and teeming with nightlife. Usually, you find so many street girls around the place.
You are adviced to visit the places if you are the type with such inclination, otherwise stay out.

Dress Code: No special requirements are observed here. In fact, what most of the girls who frequent these places were would make your hair stand attention.

Goint to social gathering like the suya spot in the Lagos University teaching hospital.
cause you gonna see some student over there and you know that student's life is the best,.

Dress Code: some jeans and nice footwear like Canvas and my traditional wears like Lamboguinea (Brocade)

I had a few beers in Pat's bar which is ok.and good food and drink in Tribes a bar diner.
Had a few beers in The Sheraton Hotel......sticking to Heineken.
The local beer Star and Gulder is not so nice.
Tribes bar and Diner is cool and airy with good music.

just a quick one .was @ sandra's bar recently though name is now bar continental .alot better than when i first visited in 2000 bigger and better facility sure spot to visit though
