What to pack for Nigeria

Luggage and bags: Travel light, because most of your requirements are available at a very cheap rate.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Cotton clothes, and sandals are preferable.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: You can always shop for toiletries on arrival, you may also take preventions against malaria.

Photo Equipment: Ant type of photo equipment would do.

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: For Lagos, Portharcourt and Calaba, you may get good tools and materials for camping and for the beach.

Miscellaneous: Dress light because of the generally hot weather.

Luggage and bags: There is no special bag to take to Nigeria. Any bag that can comfortably contain your things is Ok. make sure it contains a tag.

The harmattan season is always charactrised by dryness of skin and intense cold in the early morning and night. So if you are coming to Nigeria at that period (around Novemebr -March)you got to get enough jackets. If you are coming during rainy season (around April to October) you got to get your umbrella, and raincoats because in some cities like Portharcourt, it can rain for a whole week none stop. but when u are around in the sunny season thats in between the rainy and dry season, you have to get your sun glasses to protect your views.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: No special just the kind of toiletries and medical kits you use elsewhere, except you must make sure you take malaria tablets. THERE ARE MOSQUITOES

Photo Equipment: all type of camera's are ok, but Be sure to ask before you snap a photo. The police/military can be very agressive if you're taking a photo they think is unauthorized.

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: camping must be with guidance of local camping authorities here, to avoid encountering wild animals. Beach things are mandatory. You will oftenly be invited to beach and boat cruising. light clothes are advised due to the hot weather and be sure to have your sunburn protection cream for your skin.

Miscellaneous: Take US dollars, you can change them anywhere, best deals are on the street if you can find someone who knows where to go and is honest! Otherwise all the hotels change cash, For lovers of cultural life, please come with your cameras. Visa and travel documents are a must. There is no such thing as an 'Airport Visa' here.
