Sun of the Foods Restaurant Le Meridian Eko Hotel: Don't miss the Pepper soup

A sparkling view of inside the restaurant.

The biggest cities in Nigeria like portharcourt,Lagos and Abuja have been much inspired by continental & oriental cuisine as Nigerians enjoy to travel. So you will find a lot of restaurants providing continental, chinese and french foods. But the best is still to try the local ones ...
What the continental people will really enjoy is the fresh sea food: Nigeria is one of the biggest exporter of prawns and Sole fish to Europe. Also, you find on the markets prime quality fish as red snapper, crocker, red mullets, as well as lobsters, crabs, gambas

Favorite Dish: The nigerian cuisine includes a lot of red pepper..
Some of the specialities are the pepper soup (with fish, chicken, caw leg, etc.); eba, fufu, gari (cassava) & pounded yam. They use palm oil (a lot of !) and different spices and herbs.

my favourite if the pepper soup, as it contains lots of meat in it and is hot and make me feel ok when ever i have take it.

Reeds: Decadent Thai in Lagos

Red Curry with tofu

Tucked above Chicken Republic and Elmo's Pizzaway, you might miss Reed's. This restaurant was suggested to us by our hotel. An upscale Thai restaurant that seems more lounge-ish than restaurant. Menu is limited but made to order. You can choose your spice level. Quiet house music flows in the background. Staff is knowledgeable. Pretty pricey for Thai. We didn't have any alcoholic drinks (shocking for us) and the bill was $75 U.S. Definitely seems like a place to see and be seen as well.

We ordered Pad Thai, Red Curry and Tom Yum soup, 2 waters and a Coke.

Worth the visit.

The atmosphere is clean and nice. The staff courteous and friendly, especially Lawyer or Blessing.

Favorite Dish: Where to begin??? My personal favourites are Ofe Nsala, Banga(this is usually served in a clay dish), Okra served with any of the swallows! Everything is nice there usually.

Bight of Benin in chief's house

In the Jos Museum complex it's possible to have lunch or a drink in a replica of a chief's house. It's just outside the Museum of Traditional Nigerian Architecture.

The restaurant is open till 4 pm, so it's not possible to have your dinner at this place. At lunchtime the restaurant is very popular. I saw a lot of local people, enjoying their Nigerina dishes.

The bar is open till 6 pm.

Dreams Chicken 'n' Fries

This Restaurant is located beside the imposing AP Plaza, Wuse Zone Two Abuja. The food is always fresh and you have the opportunity of choosing your favourite dish..... seeing is believing.
The environment is clean and very private.

Favorite Dish: The picture shows exactly what I ordered, Fried Rice and Roasted Fish, with freshly prepared Salad.

Smiles: This food will put a SMILE on your face!

"Smiles" restaurant is new to Ikeja, and oh! what we've been missing! The meals are prepared to perfection with it's own distinctive flavour. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. This is a great place to meet with friends, have a date or to bring your family. Young and old alike will leave with a smile on their face. Smiles is a touch of New York in Lagos!!

Favorite Dish: My favorite dish is the chicken and rice because it is seasoned very well which makes it 's taste very distinctive....not your average chicken and rice!

Unfortunately there is not much good to talk about the restaurants in Nigeria. International cuisine is mainly Libanese or chinese, but theefore you dont have to come to Nigeria. Personaly I didnt like the nigerian food, about the only thing I didnt like in Nigeria.
Still, my recomendation: Toby Jug in Port Harcourt, for small food.
For a good snack, go to the Toby Jug in Port Harcourt. Has always been there, has always been good. You may fall over some drunk oilworkers tough.

Favorite Dish: Nothing actualy, but if I have to say something:
Some places you get nice butterfly prawns and the local chicken pepper soup.
