I was always taught that the happiest people in the world are always the ones who have nothing. My visit to Congo proved that this is the truest thing in my life. |

In America and most places throughout the world we do not have to worry about the conditions of our hospitals and the doctors with whom work in them but in Congo hospitals are not sanitized, do not have medicine, and have virtually no tools in case of a 'real' medical emergency. Americare has donated thousands of dollars in medical equipment and supplies to Congo, but are in desperate need of more. This is a photograph of the Surgery room conditions, as you can see they are more than inappropriate. |

It was most heart breaking for me to see the conditions that the children in local hospitals live their lives. They all share one room and each and everyone lives their little lives on a cold floor , covered in a blanket thinner than the thinnest bed sheet. |
