Unique Places in Republic of Congo

In America and most places throughout the world we do not have to worry about the conditions of our hospitals and the doctors with whom work in them but in Congo hospitals are not sanitized, do not have medicine, and have virtually no tools in case of a 'real' medical emergency. Americare has donated thousands of dollars in medical equipment and supplies to Congo, but are in desperate need of more. This is a photograph of the Surgery room conditions, as you can see they are more than inappropriate.

I was always taught that the happiest people in the world are always the ones who have nothing. My visit to Congo proved that this is the truest thing in my life.

Sick and tired this child had to stop to rest on a local street. You will see many people doing this throughout the area.

This is the condition of the waiting room. Sometimes people have to wait for hours before seeing one of the VERY few doctors on duty.
