Favorite thing: The trail to the summit of Green Mountain passes through a remarkable, dense bamboo grove and ends at an ornamental pond which is replete with water lillies and goldfish. The highest point on Ascension (859 metres) is adjacent to the Dew Pond and is marked by an anchor chain. The Dew Pond was constructed in 1875 and the bamboo was planted subsequently.
