Well, seldom an official tourist office is a tourist trap. But in Sao Tome it is. 8-D
The office is nearly never open, and when it is, it merely sells some hotels, daytrips and wooden carvings. You can get the same brochurs of some minor tours than in the receptions of better hotels at Sao Tome.
Unique Suggestions: Address is Ave 12 Julho, next beside the post office near Rua Ponta Mina.
Fun Alternatives: Just ask from your receptionist of accommodation.

Favorite thing: There are some market places for food at capital of Sao Tome. There are several shops in the city centre, but do not count on to buy your luxury things from Sao Tome, like Piz Buin sun lotion or tooth brush. Bring them with you.
