Nightclubs and bars in Seychelles

Seychelles is Paradise and the place to be to get away, relax and enjoy the nature....but for the younger generation like ourselves, we started to get a little bored at night....We asked the hotel management and the locals about the night life, and everyone recommended Katiolo Nightclub. It was worth it. Located in the main tourist area in the north. Open on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays ( we went to all three nights that week) this club with open air tropical decor, while very small compared to international standard, was perfect for Seychelles.
The music was excellent, a mixture of international current top hits and local music. If you want to have a good time, this is the place to be. It can get quite full especially on Wednesdays, as it is popular to both locals and tourists alike. Entrance is only SR 100 ( approx USD 10) . Ladies Free on Wednesdays and Saturdays. One of the best nights out since we've been on holiday.

If you want a good night out, this is the place to go.

Overall, a very good holiday....and a very good time....while Seychelles is not Ibiza or Majorca....there is still something for those who want to have a good time.

Dress Code: No Shorts or Sneakers. Smart dress.

Thank you Mary007 for your Nightlife tip. Katiolo was the best. For guys like us it is the best place to meet with some of the local girls. Music was great and not over-crowed. Highly recommend this one to anyone in the mood to go out and enjoy yourself when on holiday in Seychelles. Wednesday nights are the best.

When in Seychelles there is only one place to go for a good time...there is no need to sell itself....it will speak for itself....take time, depending on how long your holiday is, and visit all known clubs on Mahe, you will easily spot which is the best, has more class and will offer you the best music you will need for a good night out. Katiolo is located nearer to the airport, and is ideal night out if you have nothing to do before catching that early morning flight back to Europe.

If you want to have a good time, this is where you should go....the experience will speak for itself...you will enjoy and you will want to go back!

Best nights are on Wedndesdays and Saturdays, ladies night....It was a blast....

When in Seychelles you must at least once experience the nightlife, and this one is defenitely it.

We just came back from holiday in Seychelles, and we miss it. It was a beautiful island, relaxing and although a little bit expensive, it was a well deserved break.

For those who say dont go for the nightlife....there is...thankfully a great nightlife in Seychelles, including bars, casinos, restaurnants and pubs.

Best Casino - The one over the Pirates Arms in town
Best Nightclub - Katiolo Nightclub in the South. An absolute fantastic time...thank you!
Best Hotel - Difficult to say...but the one we stayed in was quite nice ....Fishermans Cove
Best Beach - Beau Vallon Beau in the north or in the South Anse Takamaka
Best Excursion - Catalina Reef Safari which can be booked with Masons Travel locally.

Seychelles is worth every penny , but dont change much of your currency into the local ruppee as all hotels / restaurants etc take only foreign currency from tourists.

Seychelles is truely indeed a small paradise. we spend two weeks in the seychelles. i got to admit thought that the north is the best place to stay on mahe. we deceided to go for nights out, and this is what we have to say about the night life in the seychelles. on wednesday night we went to a club called katiolo it was very nice. the decor was impressive and it did make us feel like in paradise with it's tropical theme and with its open air area. there you meet different kind of people. the music was very nice from a nice selection of music starting from 70s up to the recent latest hits on the chart. we sure did have a amazing time. excellent sound and good parking area. on friday night we deceide to go to pirates arms for dinner and again it was very nice sitting there having a nice dinner in the capital of seychelles with nice live local band playing. then we moved on to the lovenut nightclub. compare to katiolo there was a big difference, the kind of crowd that was there was more the younger generation and the music was mostly for the youngsters, so we felt a bit out of place. didn't feel like you were in seychelles at all. we heard about the vip lounge on the second floor but unfortunatly it seems that it's not finish yet and was closed. so i guess lovenut was just not for us. then on saturday we went to tequila boom. again it was very different compared to the two previous clubs we've been. it was more an arabic theme. the drinks was a bit expensive but atleast they had decent clients and good music. they also had a good parking area like katiolo and we had a wonderful time. i guess there is something for everyone in seychelles. i will recomand you try them all.

Lovenut Nightclub and cafe

Situated in the center of Victoria, just few steps from Taxi station you can find most modern and popular nightlife spot of Mahe - Lovenut nightclub. It is the only 2 levels nightclub in the country. Well known for its "crazy nights", live shows on weekends, best light and sound. There are fresh air hall and cafe, fully air-conditioned inside and amazing second floor as posh VIP area. We have been really impressed by this club especially if you compare it to other disco in the country. We met Miss Italy, Miss Germany and other celebrities in the club. Often you can see international DJ’s and singers. It’s very secure and easy to reach. It has it all there: upper level international crowd, reasonable bar prices and great music, what else you need for a great night out?

Dear friends, reading some comments of what are best place or nightclub in Seychelles sounds stupid and arrogant sometimes. Seychelles is small but it is enough place for every taste.
Some love old style open-air Katiolo, i agree it has its charm and on Wednesday its full with people.
Some love Lovenut for its light and design - place full on Friday and Saturday is better for my taste so I can move around easy. Finally they fixed their smoke problem - extractors do the job.
Tequila has very nice design too, never too full, so u can move and I like that. Wish they change DJ's - they got ex-Katiolo and ex-Lovenut staff.

So everybody can find right place to enjoy!

To clarify on some opinions expresses in this debate.

Alex_ first, katiolo is not Chez Baptista or Tarosa on La Digue. Katio is provided with a nice step down timber floor board to dance on. Actually one of the best platform altho could be larger. The MEN can walk around the dancin floor and check the beautiful girls dancing in 360 deg view.
Fresh breeze from the sea also provides better drinking apetite.

After a night at lovenut my boxer short smells of cigarette tho im a non smoker. I wonder where one will run if a fight hapens in lovenut. Entrance is also exit...
To me Lovenut is a suicide box.

Tequila Boom on the other hand altho airconditioned is a nice place to spend the night.
it is so spacious inside that one dont smell the smoke and the fart of other people like lovenut.
security service is also well provided so rest assured ure secure.

The only catch with Tequila is the price for drinks which is out of most peoples league. so better bring along 1500 rups (us$ 188)to get tipsy if ure a heavy drinker. yes tipsy.

To conclude i would strongly recomend tequila and Katiolo as the night life spot.
But please do not go katiolo on fridays cos u will be dissapointed. somehow most of the entertainment is in town with the street racing and every body goes to lovenut then.
