Well.....most of our nightlife...

by wadekorzan

Well.....most of our nightlife was spent on the balcony of our hotel watching the crabs run from the waves...so though I am sure there IS nightlife somewhere...we were simply to exhausted from laying on the beach to find it.For me, what is unique about the Seychelles besides its uncanny beauty is its location...you really can get away from it all....so though there are definitely a few places you could go out, if you are with the right person, maybe you won't want to...?

Sunset-facing beaches: Beach romance

by Saagar

When the sun sets bring towels, beach gear, picnic bag and a lamp. Your airport dutyfree chablis or perhaps chardonnay comes in handy now. Cooled from your hotel's minibar.Watch the sun go under from the beach with the smells and rustling of the Takamaka trees behind you.Go into the water with the sun and wash the daylight away...The more civilised version of this is La Mare restaurant on Beau Vallon (see my restaurant tip). Fairly optional, depending on the company and situation and popularity of the chosen beach...

There was no night life!!!!!!

by Russ60

There really wasnt any nightlife when we were there, after your evening meal you were treated to some local dances and singers in a canoe (The Anse Lazio Band). The beach after which they took their name was fantastic, sadly the band wernt.

Disco in Praslin

by Pierangelo

Near St. Anne pier in Praslin you can find the disco DOME (the floor over the market). The disco music is good and international, local girl are very friendly and nice... mix of african, indian, european.

Anywhere: Gecko

by giln

The Gecko is a local small harmless lizzard. It has a beautiful bright green color.A popular Seychelles nightlife activity is to sit and look at a Gecko hunting annoying insects... :) musqito defence.

As it turns out...

by ChrisAmirault

...we didn't go to a single night club, concert, or movie at night. Nothing. In part because of the time change and in part because of our lack of interest, we really had no desire. Most nights we hit the beach to watch the sunset -- and the massive, beautiful fruit bats flying out to start their evenings -- and then went to bed to read.Having said that, we saw no evidence that there was anything resembling a club scene. There certainly are a number of resorts offering non-ironic lounge lizardry, "authentic" creole music (a doubtful claim given all we had read about Seychellois culture), and gambling. But however campy, the covers and expensive drinks would make it hard for us to justify the limited value.Final note: if you're going out, keep in mind that the buses don't run late at night, so unless you have an expensive rental car and want to drive the unlit, thin roads, you'll need to...

Get wasted in your bedroom! ...

Get wasted in your bedroom! not much clubs. You can check out the hotel bar's (mas o mens) as they say!TRY COCO DE' MER. Infact I used to carry one in my backpack wherever I went. You'll never know when you'll need it!!!!! WHAT!

I was only there, Mahe', for 3 days so I didn't get a chance to see ALL the night life. There are some small disco's in each of the hotels. I also spent some time in the casino at Barborons. Very nice dealers and a nice drive if you're staying on the other end. If neither of those activities are your thing then just throwing a towel down on the beach and eyeing a gadzillion stars is fun too (don't mind those huge flying dogs...err fruit bats).

Most of the hotels provide nightly entertainment. Displays of the sega, a traditional cultural dance is a popular form of the entertainment provided. Beware though, you'll be dragged onto the dance floor and persuaded to join in and have a go!The Beau Vallon Bay Hotel has a casino for those who like to partake in a spot of gambling. Our favourite night spot was an open air disco popular with the locals where we had a wonderful time.Although the hotels offer good entertainment we felt happiest in a wooden shack in what seemed like the middle of a jungle (well, it was dark and it felt like the middle of the jungle!) dancing to the beat of the local reggae band. Venture out and explore, you never know what you'll find. Dress code....whatever you're comfortable in. It was a relaxed and friendly place.

Anse Takamaka Beach: What are you???! .....I'm batman!

As the sun starts going down, the bats come out.
