Chez Gabi: A Sunday's Excursion

by shellseeker

This small island in the Ste Anne Marine Park has its own style and atmosphere. Go there on sundays (no tour day - more locals and better food) and book directly with the restaurant (plus: organize a boat transfer)! All inclusive: SR 175,- Creole Buffet with a good BBQ and a very good mango salad, keep some appetite for the delicious dessert buffet; the cool bar (in the former chapel) makes Caipirinhas which will kill you 2 times (very strong and very expensive: SR 100,-)

The Boat House: In Beau Vallon

by shellseeker

This is a good place to get to know some of the delicacies of the Creole Cuisine. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the location right behind Beau Vallon Beach is also very good. It is also an open air restaurant in the evenings they serve you a very good Creole Buffet!

Kaz Kreol: At Anse Royale

by shellseeker

It is located at a perfect beach and has an open terrace and verandah with tropical plants and flowers all over! All Italian dishes, the chef is Italian and so the pizza and pasta really taste like in Bella Italia (but it is rather expensive! pizza for SR 80,-)

The Pirates Arms: The Meeting Point In Victoria

by shellseeker

The Pirate Arms is the only real day and night place to go in Victoria. It is centrally located, open to the street (with a good breeze of the fans) and a perfect meeting spot for locals and tourists! The choose-it-yourself-pizza for SR 40,- (3 toppings) and the fruit juices!!!

La Scala: One Irresistable Treat

by shellseeker

The location is unbelivably exotic. Book your table ahead and you get one at the edge of the terrace to the sea. A romantic evening is guaranteed! By the way, each table is only booked once every evening... so a very personal service is for sure, as well! A delicious variety of Italian, French and European cuisine... It's probably THE place to go on Mahé Island!

there is only 1 reataurant: At Anse Soleil

by shellseeker

I can't remember the name, but the beach itself is very nice and secluded and from the restaurant's terrace you overlook the beach and the bay! A very relaxed atmosphere! Typical Creole food; just order a couple of different dishes (curries, fish, ect.), a rather cheap place to eat!

Sundown: Hidden but great restaurant !

by schmoschmo

The restaurant is in Port Glaud (North Western Mahe), which is not a well-known place and far away from the famous Beau Vallon or Victoria. But it really worths to go there! Everything what we have tried there was FANTASTIC !!! The waitresses are helpful, friendly. The restaurant is right at the beach and nice creol music was going on - which is really romantic (eg watching sun down from there). The octopus curry and the Red Snapper filet was our two favourite dishes , but everything else (chicken curry, tec-tec soup, crab curry, coco nougat, pawpaw caramel...) was perfect as well. Main dishes are around 60-70 Rp.

Various Resport Places: The Wonders of Creole

by colin00

With many places in the Seychelles you are tied to the resutrants attached to the hotel simply because there's no where else for you to go, or because you're on an all inclusive basis. Go for the creole food and not the poor western imitation. It's wonderful stuff! Creole Beef Curry and Spicy Job Fish are both too wonderful for words!

Allamanda Hotel Restaurant: Sunday Brunch Blow-out

by ChrisAmirault

The Allamanda Hotel is the other lodging on Anse Forbans (along with the chalets at which we stayed), and had dinner there one night, which was overpriced and just good. But the one Sunday we were in the Seychelles, we wandered over to the hotel eager to have something other than what was in our refrigerator. Turns out that the Allamanda has a great creole spread for brunch on Sundays, which included lots of different curries, a huge grilled red snapper (bourgeois fish, locally), a few salads, and a few other things. Some stuff isn't so good -- this is not a good climate for fried eggplant, for example -- but much is great, and if you haven't already gotten your fill of the ubiquitous curry, the curry goat is swell. Fair warning: the place does tend to fill up, so give a call for reservations. If you get there and it's packed, ask them to add a table in the backyard -- the hostess is...

along the drives,: Creole seafoods

by kenHuocj

Wish I recorded names, but they'd be out of date.On our drives around the island, a SIGN, a small buidling, next to the sea, be it a cove or whatever,we had many fine meals Creole seafoods or poutry.I remembr being gastronomically satiated and more than satisfied ;-p
